Hailing from Detroit, MI and growing up in Ypsilanti Shelby has over 10 years of dance experience in various dance styles. As a youngster she always had a passion for movement. Beginning in 6th grade, where she attended West Middle School. She started off as a cheerleader, but half-time was always her favorite so she could strut her stuff to her favorite tunes. As she entered high school at Ypsilanti High, she had a change of heart. Unlike most of her friends who were trying out for the school cheer team, Shelby decided to switch things up and follow her dreams and dance. Within just a short year, Shelby had worked her way up to Co-Captain through the leadership of Chejuana Stewart and Kayla Naylor. Before she knew it, she was creating choreography and formations to be performed not only at Varsity Basketball games but at year end recitals that featured various dance forms including Modern, Hip Hop and Jazz. Shelby knew then that dance was always going to be a major part of her life. As she came to the end of her high school career, Shelby began to take dance more seriously.
